My Journey
How a Question About Google Became a Career
In 2018, I was working in digital marketing and kept asking the same question: why do certain websites always show up first? I started experimenting on small niche sites — testing on-page changes, building links, tracking rankings. I failed a lot. But every failure taught me something no course could.
By 2019, I was managing SEO campaigns for clients at an agency — local businesses, eCommerce stores, and early SaaS startups. I saw what worked at scale. More importantly, I saw what didn’t work — shortcuts that looked good in reports but crumbled at the next algorithm update.

That philosophy is why I founded Elysian Digital in 2021 — to build an SEO consultancy where transparency isn’t a buzzword, it’s the operating model.

The First Question
Ran my first niche site experiments. Ranked a local blog to page 1 with zero budget and realised SEO was something I needed to go all-in on.
2019
First Paying Client
Landed my first freelance client — a local restaurant wanting more footfall. Tripled their local search visibility in 4 months. Proof the approach worked.
2020
Agency Deep-Dive
Joined a digital agency full-time, managing 15+ campaigns simultaneously. Learned what clients actually care about vs. what sounds impressive.
2021
Founded Elysian Digital
Left the agency to build my own consultancy. “Elysian” — meaning perfect and blissful — reflects the standard I hold every piece of work to.
2023
Went Deep on AI SEO
When AI changed how people search, I spent months studying GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation. Now it’s a core part of every strategy I build.

Why did you start Elysian Digital instead of staying at an agency?
At an agency, the pressure to onboard as many clients as possible meant quality often suffered. I wanted to work with fewer clients, do significantly better work, and actually stand behind every result. Elysian Digital is intentionally small for exactly that reason.
Do you only work with large businesses?
Not at all. Some of my favourite projects have been with solo founders and small local businesses. What matters to me is whether the client is serious about long-term growth and whether I genuinely believe I can help them. Budget is secondary to fit.
How is your approach different from other SEO consultants?
Three things: I work directly with you (not a team of juniors), I tell you the truth even when it's uncomfortable, and I only recommend tactics I would use on my own sites. I also combine traditional SEO with AI-integrated workflows that most consultants haven't adopted yet.
Are you available for one-off projects or only retainers?
Both. I offer standalone technical audits, strategy documents, and training sessions. For ongoing growth, monthly retainers starting from 3 months make more sense because SEO compounds — the longer we work together, the better the results.
How do I know you'll be honest if results are disappointing?
I've ended contracts early when I knew the client wasn't getting value. I've told potential clients their expectations weren't realistic. My long-term reputation matters more than any single engagement. Every monthly report includes an honest section on what moved slower than expected and why.
